Mission statement
Borneo Nature Foundation (BNF) works with local Indonesian partners to protect some of the most important areas of tropical rainforest in Borneo, including the peat swamps of of the Sebangau National Park, home to the world's largest orangutan population.
Borneo Futures is a scientific consultancy company based in Brunei Darussalam. Established in 2015, we engage with projects focused on innovative science that informs the practices and policies of environmental management in tropical forest areas.
The work by the Borneo Futures company builds on the studies conducted through the Borneo Futures initiative, by implementing pilot programs for key stakeholders in natural resource companies, banks, government institutions, and rural communities.

Earlier this year, a significant breakthrough was made in one of the projects funded by ASAP’s Species Conservation Fund. After a long search, the dedicated team rediscovered the very first specimen of an Mesilau Stream Toad, thought to have been lost to science.
