Relocation Building a breeding enclosure to support the recovery of Siamese Crocodile in Laos amidst an obligatory relocation
The emergency
In 2023, the Lao Wildlife Trust for Conservation (LWTC) learnt that the government was not going to renew their land contract, forcing the relocation of the entire facility. This included their captive population of Siamese Crocodile, a number of which were thought to be pure, and therefore of global importance to the species's recovery in the wild. Funding was needed to assist the relocation by enabling the design and construction of a facility that could house the crocodiles and support conservation breeding efforts.
